Acquasol Infrastructure Pty Ltd. designs and develops
cost-effective, environmentally-friendly power and water projects.
Our current project is "Acquasol 1," a
concentrating solar power plant that also produces potable water. It will
be built just outside Port Augusta, South Australia.
"Acquasol 1" is a 200 Mw Solar thermal/gas
hybrid power plant and water desalination facility. Brine from the desalination process will be harvested on land
and refined into commercial grade salt.
By combining concentrating solar power, combined
cycle gas turbines, multi-effects desalination and brine harvesting, a
cost-effective, flexible cluster of technologies can be used exploit the
intrinsic synergies between them. The result will be more electricity and
water for Australia, lower costs to consumers and a protected natural
environment.
Acquasol Infrastructure Pty Ltd. is a design and development company for
power projects, predominantly those offering cost-effective synergies in
renewable energy. From wind to biomass, solar to wave
energy, a wide array of exciting renewable energy technologies are now
available and increasingly cost competitive with fossil fuels. At the same
time, huge advances in efficiency and cost are occurring in desalination.
